Donald Lee Smith passed peacefully at home on December 12, 2021. Don was born on November 21, 1932, in Bartlesville, OK to Michael D. Smith and Ruth (Banks) Smith. He was reared and received his schooling in the Bartlesville Schools graduating from College High School.
As a young boy he had a job delivering newspapers on his bicycle. Later he would become head pressman for the Examiner Enterprise. He also worked at JCPenney after school and on Saturdays at Christmas time during his 9th grade. He worked at Crystal Ice Plant after school and during summers in 1947-1950. Don was drafted into the Army after high school and served during the Korean Conflict. He was able to take the Honor Flight trip to Washington, DC for veterans. He was employed by Phillips Petroleum for 32 years.
Don and Doris (Stinnett) Smith married on August 24, 1973. They made their home in Bartlesville.
Don was a member of First Baptist Church of Bartlesville, Dewey Golden-K Kiwanis, Washington County Adult Center, and National Wood Carvers Association.
Don is survived by his wife; Doris, son; Michael D. Smith of Bartlesville, OK; grandson; Jacob Smith of Tulsa, OK, granddaughter; Beth (Hamilton) Loflin and her husband, David, great grandchildren; Samuel and Oliver Loflin, sister-in-law; Claudine Smith and two nephews, Gary and David Smith and their families. He was preceded in death by daughter; Teresa Jane Smith Hamilton, his parents, and his brother; MD Smith.
