Alonzo Mccoy

January 18, 1933 — December 27, 2021

Al McCoy, 88, passed away from this life on December 27, 2021.  He was born January 18, 1933, in Enid, Oklahoma to Paul and Grace McCoy.  In 1951, he married the love of his life, Betty (Kanady) McCoy.  The couple lived in Stillwater, Oklahoma most of their lives and then, Cushing, Oklahoma for 20 years.  Al served his country with the U.S. Army in the Korean War from 1953-1955.  Al was a painting contractor most of his life, working for numerous builders.  He donated his time painting several churches and homes and helping others any way that he could.  Al and Betty spent their retirement making great friends at their retirement communities and campgrounds in Oklahoma, Texas, and Missouri.  He was well known for his stories and humor.  They thoroughly enjoyed going to church, line dancing, traveling, and enjoying all their time with their friends and family.  Al was a very devoted husband, dad, papa, and GG (great grandpa).  He was always very active in his daughter’s and her husband's lives, whom he called his son.  He was always ready to teach someone how to line dance, fish, swim, or anything they wanted to learn.  He was also thirsty for knowledge and never stopped learning.  He was the most beautiful, kind, loving, hilarious man you have ever met.  Al loved his bride and family deeply.

Al accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized April 28, 1949.  He dearly loved every he was around and the feeling was mutual.  He had a love for everything God made and appreciated the beauty of it all.  However, he never could quite comprehend how the Dollar Tree could make things for just a dollar.  Al was greeted at Heaven’s gate on December 27th by both parents, in-laws, maternal and paternal grandparents, brothers Johnny, Carl, and Rick McCoy, sisters Wand Toland and Pauline Harmon.  He leaves behind the absolute love of his life of 70 years, Betty McCoy; his loving daughter, Kathy Pippin and husband, Rodney of Bartlesville; granddaughters, Elizabeth Featherston and husband, James of Bartlesville and Jenni Lynn Anderson and her husband, Abraham Anderson of Asheville, North Carolina; great-grandkids, Kelly Jo Featherston of Bartlesville, London and Ash Anderson of Asheville; bonus son, Gary Goff of Cushing, Oklahoma; bonus son and daughter, Gary and Nancy Roberts of Tryon, OK; nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.  He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

There will not be a funeral service at this time.  Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home.  To send an online condolence, visit www.honoringmemories.com.
