Wanda Jean Martin, 89, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away Monday evening, December 29, 2025 at Ascension-St. John Medical Center, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Wanda was born November 21, 1936 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Earnest O. King and Flora A. (Branson) King. She attended first and second grade at Okmulgee Elementary before moving to Bartlesville and attending Washington Elementary. Wanda began fifth grade in Dewey Public Schools, where she attended until her Sophomore year. She returned to Bartlesville, graduating with the College High Wildcats Class of 1954.
Wanda married R. H. Geurin, Jr. in 1955, with a ready made family including his children, four year old daughter, Lucinda Geurin, and infant son, David C. Geurin. To this union, two daughters were born, Lutricia Dianne in 1956 and Lisa Yvonne in 1958. They later divorced. She then married James Horsman in 1969. To that marriage, a son was born, Nathan Orland in 1971. They later divorced. Wanda then married Fred Martin in 1984. They later divorced.
Wanda made her home in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, working many years for Phillips Petroleum Company until her early retirement. She had been an Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Supply and Transportation, and later a Rail Car Expeditor in The Railway Division. Wanda began a second career as a Funeral Service Assistant at Arnold Moore Funeral Home, and after the merger with Neekamp Funeral Home, continued to work visitations, weekend receptionist and professional proofreader until retirement at age 85. She was also a personal assistant and caregiver to Mel Crader for many years, until his death in 2023.
Wanda was a long time member of the East Bartlesville Christian Church. She enjoyed working in her yard, helping others and caring for her closest companion and rescue dog, Liza. Wanda was independent and well known in her neighborhood to look after the well being of others. Her hobbies included attending various auctions, estate sales and watching her favorite crime shows on the A&E Network.
She is survived by step-daughter Cindy Geurin Shead, step-son David C. Geurin, two daughters, Lutricia Geurin Harris and husband Bryon of Bartlesville, OK, and daughter Lisa Geurin Jackson and husband Sterling of Nowata County, OK, by a son, Nathan Horsman of Branson, MO; one sister, Jerrie Walden of Verdigris, OK, a brother, G. W. Hatchett; six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, with one on the way, one great great grandson, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, brother Cecil Hatchett, and one great great grandson Reed Walker Brisbin.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00am, Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Pathway Christian Church of Bartlesville, with Evangelist David Bycroft officiating. Interment will be in Bartlesville Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Family Visitation will be held Friday, January 2, from 6:00pm-8:00pm, at Arnold Moore & Neekamp.
Pallbearers will be Sterling Jackson, Bryon Harris, Daniel Scott, Jackson Cole Chopra, Greyson Geurin Chopra, and Tim Howell.
