Virgie M. Formby

Virgie M. Formby, 87, formerly of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026, at the Olathe Hospice House, Olathe, Kansas.

Virgie was born on February 11, 1939, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, to Virgil Ballard and Mary Jane (Hayden) Ballard. On April 30, 1955, Virgie married the love of her life, Donald E. Formby in Hominy, Oklahoma. The couple made their home in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, where they spent many happy years together. Virgie worked for Wal-Mart in numerous capacities including human resources and personnel for 22 years. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening & baking.

Virgie loved her family and will be missed by all that loved her.

Preceding Virgie in death are her parents: Virgil and Mary Ballard; and her husband: Donald Formby; her grandson: Tyler Formby & her brother & sisters. 

Those left to cherish the memory of Virgie are her son: Donald Formby II and wife, Susan of Olathe, KS; her grandson: Jacob Formby and wife Taylor of Shawnee, KS and her two great grandchildren: Ryan Formby & Harrison Formby of Shawnee, KS. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Mrs. Formby to the Olathe Hospice House, 15310 S. Marion, Olathe, KS 66061.
