Sherry Jo Armstrong, age 90, a longtime Bartlesville resident and widow of Robert (Bob) E. Armstrong, passed away in her sleep on Wednesday, June 30th, 2026, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Sherry was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Sherry was born in Pampa, Texas, on March 19th, 1936, to Ted and Fanchon Reno. The youngest of three daughters. She attended school in Phillips, Texas until moving to Bartlesville, where she then graduated as a proud Wildcat from College High School in 1954. After high school, she attended Oklahoma Baptist University and Oklahoma A&M. She married the love of her life, Bob Armstrong, on June 7, 1957, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Sherry’s selfless nature enabled her to support her husband and a growing family as a homemaker through multiple moves across Texas, Florida, Georgia, and Oklahoma. Later she worked as a secretary for PP&G and Bartlesville First Baptist Church. She eventually retired from the legal department at Phillips in 1994 to focus on being a full-time grandmother.

Sherry lived by a clear set of priorities of faith, family, and friends. It was in her nature to serve and lift up others. She was the ultimate hostess to both friends and family, making sure no one ever went hungry or thirsty. Her kind and loving nature made everyone feel special. She loved music and somehow found time to be in the choir. She tucked her children and grandchildren into bed with a prayer and blessed them with humming her favorite gospel hymns while making breakfast. Sherry and Bob loved traveling with friends and family. In particular going on cruises, and she insisted on taking each of the grandkids on a special trip.

Sherry served and worshiped the Lord in a number of ways over the years, but she loved serving in the Joy ministry and prayer room at Bartlesville First Baptist Church. She also helped out with delivering meals on wheels. In her spare time, she enjoyed the tranquility of planting flowers, tending roses, and helping Bob in his vegetable garden. But she did have an edge to her, as she was a sneaky-good Bridge player and a member of a club for over 40 years. She was beautiful inside and out, and her kind smile and uplifting words will be missed by many.

Sherry is survived by her children: Tami (Rick) Stull, Teri (David) Hightower, Alan (Shelly) Armstrong, and Amy (Brian) Kinney. As well as her grandchildren: Ryan (Shayna) Stull, Staci (Zach) Schnorrenberg, Ashlee Hightower, Caitlin (Bretton) Crane, Molly (Stephen) Williams, Claire (Parker) Biggs, Kylee (Tyler) Magee, Jarret Armstrong, Gabrielle Armstrong, Jayme (Connor) Berry, Seth Kinney, and Carson Kinney and 12 great-grandchildren.
