Samuel Dewey Freeman, 71, of Nowata went to be with the Lord on March 6, 2020. He was born September 21, 1948, in Hagarville, Arkansas to Wilbur and Viola (Callahan) Freeman.
Shortly after High School, Sam married Pamela Jean Martin on September 21, 1968. In 1971, Sam and Pam moved to Nowata and made Nowata their home. Sam ministered for many years along with his wife at several church’s and nursing home residents. He loved the Lord andSavior. He wasn’t shy about spreading the word of Jesus Christ to everyone. He was a finish carpenter for many years and enjoyed working with wood. He was very talented and could fix anything you put in front of him. Sam enjoyed listening to music, especially Elvis, watching westerns, studying the Bible, and helping his wife at her daycare center. He had a great sense of humor and "could make a person laugh at any time or put a smile on their face". He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and loved his family unconditionally. Sam will be missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Pamela Freeman; siblings: Kenneth Freeman, Royce Freeman, James Freeman, Ernestine McMullen, Alma Brooks and an infant brother.
Survivors include two sons: Kenneth Freeman and wife Wende of Nowata, and Jason Freeman and wife Chelsey of Nowata; four grandchildren: Ryan Freeman, Kassidy Freeman-Rapien and husband William, Zachary Seth Freeman, Adyson Freeman, four great grandchildren: Angelena, Danielle, Wyatt, Weston; five siblings: Wilma Pledger and husband Doy of Coweta, Pauline Forbes of Coweta, Brenda Ellis and husband Don of Claremore, Linda Cross and husband Steven of Tahlequah, Floyd Freeman and wife Tammy of Lamar, AR and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, March 9, 2020 at the Trinity Full Gospel Church in Nowata, Oklahoma with pastor Connie Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at the Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Service, Nowata. Visitation will be held at Benjamin Funeral Home: Saturday, March 7, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 8, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m
