Ruby Mae Pahl, 90, resident of Mission, Texas passed away Friday, May 5, 2006 at the Mission Hospital in Mission, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00a.m., Wednesday, May 10, 2006 in the Benjamin Funeral Service Chapel at Nowata, Oklahoma with Reverend Ben Killion officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Nowata. Ruby Mae (Nicholson) Pahl was born at Talala, Oklahoma on September 17, 1915 on her mother's Indian allotment. Her parents were Sim and Neoma (Reed) Nicholson. Ruby was the second child of 10 and the oldest girl. She received her schooling at Oologah, at Sunnyside School east of Talala, and at Nowata. Ruby married George Erwin on July 20, 1935 in Nowata. He preceded her in death on February 11, 1969. Ruby moved to South Texas about 36 years ago where she met her second husband Adolph Meister. They married on August 21, 1970. He preceded her in death on May 15, 1978. Ruby married Wesley Pahl on July 7, 1979 in Minnesota. They lived in the Mission, Texas area and raised grapefruit and oranges. Wes preceded her in death on June 09, 2002 in Mission, Texas. Ruby loved to crochet and made beautiful afghans. She was a member of the Does, a ladies auxiliary organization at the McAllen Elks Lodge #1402. She served several years as President. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers Albert Nicholson, Howard Nicholson, Salul Nicholson, Billy Ray Nicholson and one sister, Wilma Allen. She is survived by her sister Eula Coker and brother-in-law Doug Coker of Nowata; her sister Lucille Lumm of Nowata; her brother Wayne Nicholson and sister-in-law Violet Nicholson of Nowata; and sister Mary Warren and brother-in-law Paul Warren of Ocean Park, Washington. She is survived by many nieces and nephews who shared many good times with their "Aunt Ruby". Six stepchildren, Wanda Thoreson, Marlys Gilbertson, Dallas Pahl, Mavis Staton, Louis Pahl, and Patricia Mitchell also survive her.
