Retha Mae (Bacon) Ringer, 93, of Ramona, Oklahoma, entered the presence of her Lord & Savior on October 31, 2025, surrounded by her three loving children and other loved ones.
Retha was born, December 19, 1931, to Lawton Bacon and Ollie (Kaiser) Bacon in Vera, Oklahoma. She was a 1949 graduate of Ramona High School. Retha married the love of her life, Charles Irvin Ringer, on June 12, 1948, in Bartlesville. The couple made their home in Ramona and when the children were young Retha attended Collinsville Beauty College and later opened a salon in her home. She had been a nurses’ aid for Jane Phillips Medical Center and cleaned offices at night. Retha assumed ownership of Clara’s Cafe in Ramona, from her sister-in-law, and renamed it Ringer’s Country Kitchen, before becoming head cook at Luby’s Cafeteria, Bartlesville.
Retha was an excellent cook and was well-known for her pie baking skills. She was a talented painter and student of Bob Ross. Retha loved gardening, raising beautiful flowers as well as tasty vegetables. She was long time member of First Baptist Church in Ramona.
Survivors include her three children, Deborah Gail Conroy and husband, Bob of College Station, Texas, Linda Kay Thetford and husband, Levi of Collinsville, Oklahoma and Joe Bob Ringer and wife, Kathy of Owasso, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren, as well as other relatives and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Charles on April 11, 1977; by four brothers, Emory, Leroy, Kenneth and Melvin Bacon and by two sisters, Bernidine (Martin) Boyd and Lorene Maxey.
Funeral service will be 11am, Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at the First Baptist Church of Ramona with Pastor Lynn Nikkel officiating. A private family burial will be conducted at Ramona Cemetery under the direction of Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday, 9am-8pm with the family on hand to receive guests from 6-8 pm.
