Paula Sheats, 82, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2026, at The Journey Home in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

Paula was born on April 5, 1944, to Paul Gary Goodson and Helen Inez (Spence) Sheatz in Shelbyville, Texas. She grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana, and graduated from high school in Shreveport. Paula went on to attend a business college, graduating with valuable knowledge of business for her career. Paula was the co-owner of Fireplaces Plus for 30 years, where she handled the accounting, until her retirement in 2007.

Paula lived in Rodeo, California, from 1985 until 2007. She married Harold Wayman Sheats in Reno, Nevada, on January 14, 1990. After Paula retired in 2007, she and Harold relocated to Dewey, OK, where she lived until 2025, when she moved to Bartlesville.

In her free time, Paula loved to read, she enjoyed traveling to the ocean any chance she could get to see the lighthouses, and she loved to spend time with her friends and family. Paula was a member of Hope Church of Ramona.

Paula will be missed by all that knew her and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her first husband: DL Burnette; her late husband: Harold Sheats; her parents: Paul Goodson and Helen Sheatz; her stepdad: Aubrey Sheatz; and her uncle and aunt: Joe and Ruby Hughes, who helped raise her.

Those left to cherish the memory of Paula include her children: Diana York and husband, Bob of Bartlesville, OK, Deborah Smith and husband, Garry of Bartlesville, OK, and Billy Sheats and wife, Bobbie of Pollock Pines, CA; her stepdaughter: Patricia Sheats of Bartlesville, OK; her step-son: Aaron Sheats of Bartlesville, OK; her sister: Fran Riggs and husband, Larry of Marshall, TX; many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

A graveside service for Paula will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Dewey Cemetery with Pastor John Bailey and Pastor Shawn Bailey officiating.
