Melba Lorain Brown 85, Vinita resident Passed away at a Tulsa hospital on Thursday, April 27, 2006. She was born on September 15, 1920 to General Clifford and Mattie Leola (Smith) Finley in Springtown, TX. Mrs. Brown worked in Vinita as a Public Tax Accountant, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and she also volunteered at the Senior Citizens. Her parents and a brother Orval Finley preceded her in death. Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband Frank E. Brown of the home, her children Jean Harmon and her husband Virgil of Miami, OK and John Jennings and his wife Linda of Vinita; grandchildren include Roger Harmon, Charles Harmon, Kelly Fiel, Johnny Paul Jennings, and six great-grandchildren, Step-sons David Brown, Frank Brown Jr., Harold Brown and a brother Wilbert Finley. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM on Monday, May 1, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church in Vinita with Reverend Bob Johns officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Afton, OK under the direction of the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita. Casketbearers will be David Brown, Roger Harmon, Charles Harmon, Johnny Paul Jennings, Ed Jones and Bill Galyean. Honorary Casketbearers will be R.C. Inman, Bob McClain and Jack Dillon.
