Mary Ann Dacus passed away peacefully in her home in Naples, ME on May 17, 2026, after a two year battle with an eating disorder.
Born in 1946 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Martha Jane Johnston and Jack Griffin, she spent most of her life in Oklahoma. She attended Central High School in Tulsa before marrying James (Jim) Dacus. She had two children, Jason and Christa. Jim and Mary Ann were the owners/operators of Bestyet in Bartlesville and Hooters in Dewey before closing their businesses and moving to Texas. Mary Ann was active in Dewey's FFA, local car clubs, and a close cross-stitch and knitting group.
Mary Ann moved to New England in 2005 to be closer to her daughter and only grandchild, Christiana. In 2006, she met and married Lawrence Anton of Naples, ME. They spent the majority of their 19 plus years together traveling the world and entertaining family and friends at their home on their beloved Trickey Pond in Naples, ME.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Jim Dacus and her son, Jason. She is survived by her daughter, Christa Dacus, her granddaughter, Christiana Carlini, and her second husband, Lawrence Anton. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to NEDA, the National Eating Disorders Association.
Mary Ann will be placed at rest in a graveside service at 10:00 AM on May 26, 2026, at the Dewey Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being arranged by Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home and Cremation Service of downtown Bartlesville. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemoriesbartlesville.com.
