Marsha Ann (Gunter) DeWitt, 73, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away on the evening of October, 1, 2025, unexpectedly at her residence.
She was born on October 5, 1951, in Borger, Texas, to Winston Marsh Gunter and Billie Jeune (Bebout) Swinney. At a young age, Marsha’s family re-located to Bartlesville, Oklahoma, where Marsha grew up and graduated from College High School with the class of 1969. After graduating from high school, Marsha went on to attend St. Anthony School of Nursing in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Marsha began her career as a nurse at Claremore Indian Hospital and then went on to work as a nurse for the Department of Defense in the Department of the Army in Oklahoma City, OK. Marsha worked there for over 30 years, before retiring. She was truly passionate about being a nurse and had a rewarding career.
In her free time, Marsha enjoyed reading and playing games on her phone. She loved her family and enjoyed spening time with them, especially her grandchildren and her great-grandson, Ezekiel. She loved being with her husband and she loved her animals. Marsha will be missed by those who loved her.
Marsha was preceded in death by her father: Winston Marsh Gunter; her mother: Billie Jeune (Bebout) Gunter Swinney; her step-father: Gordon Woodrow Swinney; and her sister: Gwen Sue Merritt.
Those left to cherish the memory of Marsha include her husband: David D. DeWitt of Bartlesville, OK; her children: Sarah Bigby and husband, Brandon of Broken Arrow, OK and Jonathan Owen and Tiana of Kansas; her grandchildren: Tayshlei, Kalei and Gannon, Kassadei, Grace, Olivia, Emilie, and Hunter; her great-grandson: Ezekiel; her nephew: Marc Main and his family of Las Vegas, NV, as well as other family members and many friends.
