Margie Lee McKee, 90, of Nowata, OK passed away Tuesday afternoon, October 8, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Margie was born June 22, 1934, at Burbank, Oklahoma to Benjamin Earl Robinson and Tressie Velma (Hart) Robinson. She grew up in Wann & Bartlesville, OK. She married Marvin Ray McKee on August 11, 1950.

The couple made their home in Bartlesville and moved to Nowata in 1959. Together they owned and operated the Montgomery Ward Catalogue Store for 26 years. Margie was an active member of Nowata’s First Baptist Church, Golden Notes Choir, and the Womens Missionary Union. She was instrumental in beginning the Sew-to-So group, making mats for the homeless that are delivered to John 3:16 Mission in Tulsa.

Margie is survived by her daughter, Danette Jones and husband, Randy of Nowata; son, Dennis McKee and wife, Sharon of Nowata; seven grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Ray and by a son, Dean McKee; by her four brothers and eight sisters.

Funeral service will be 10am, Friday, October 11, 2024, at Nowata’s First Baptist Church with Pastors Randall Jones and Steve Cody officiating. Interment will be in Nowata’s Re-Located Cemetery under the direction of Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral and Cremation Service of Bartlesville. Viewing and visitation will be Thursday, October 10 at Benjamin Funeral Service of Nowata until 8pm. Margie’s family will receive guests from 6-8pm.
