Lila Lou Hinkle

On Wednesday, June 25, 2025, Lila Lou Hinkle passed away in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 83.

Lila was born on September 6, 1941, to Earl and Cleo (Smith) Padgett in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. She grew up in Bartlesville, graduating from College High School. Right out of high school, Lila worked at a jewelry store in downtown Bartlesville, then Terry Bryan Accounting, and later Beechcraft in Wichita, Kansas. She went on to have a longtime career at Phillips Petroleum Company, working as a purchasing clerk in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Lila retired after 30 plus years at Phillips.

In her free time, Lila enjoyed doing crafts, jigsaw puzzles, and going to the casino. She was also an avid traveler and loved to do guided bus tours, especially back east seeing the fall foliage and covered bridges. Lila’s family and friends held a special place in her heart, and she enjoyed spending any minute that she could with the ones she loved. Lila will truly be missed.

Lila is preceded in death by her parents: Earl and Cleo Padgett; and her siblings: Kathryn Smith, Evelyn Padgett, Earl Padgett and wife, Lois Padgett, and Gary Padgett.

Those left to cherish the memory of Lila include her daughters: Kathy Hinkle, Jeri Bordine, and Sandra Easter and husband, Mark; her grandchildren: Amber Garrett and husband, Bryan, Brittany Ashcraft and husband, Michael, Marshall Easter, Thomas Easter, and Lyndi Easter; her great-grandchildren: Ryan, Jade, and Mattie Garrett, Laken and Tanner Ashcraft; her sister: Delores Cramer and husband, Jack; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A rosary will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, at 2:00 PM at St. John Before the Latin Gate Catholic Church in Bartlesville, OK. Funeral mass for Lila will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, beginning at 9:00 AM, at St. John Before the Latin Gate Catholic Church with Father Leonard Higgins officiating.
