Leo W. Taylor, age 74, a lifelong resident of Dewey died Thursday May 25, 2006 at the Jane Phillips Medical Center. Leo W. Taylor was born on September 8, 1931 to William McKee Taylor and Gracie Mae Henderson Taylor in Dewey, Oklahoma. Leo served in the Korean War as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army. He received the Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, UN Service medal and the National Defense Service Medal. Leo W. Taylor and Lillie Mae Owens were united in marriage on September 21, 1956 in the First Assembly of God Church in Bartlesville. Leo retired from the Bartlesville Post Office with 30 years of service. Leo W. Taylor is survived by his wife Lillie Mae Taylor of Dewey, one son Brent Taylor, two grandchildren Shelby Renee Taylor Hogae and Richard Taylor. Leo is preceded in death by his parents William McKee Taylor and Gracie Mae Henderson Taylor, three sisters and three brothers. His brother Jackson David Taylor was killed in World War II in the Philippines. Funeral services for Mr. Leo W. Taylor will be held 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at the Baldwin Prarie Cemetery in Cravens, Oklahoma. Rev. Wendell Fields of Little Rock, Arkansas will preside over the services.
