John Mert Keefer 1942 - 2024

John Keefer, 82, of Bartlesville, OK, died on November 25, 2024, after aa short illness.

He was born in Tulsa, OK, to Jay and Lena Keefer (nee Castelli) in 1942. He was an only child. John attended Franklin Elementary, Cascia Hall, and the University of Oklahoma before earning his Juris Doctorate from the University of Tulsa in 1967. He was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity.

John was married to Marilynn Morhart in 1962, and they have four children. John practiced law in Tulsa for many years before moving his practice to Brewer-Worton-Robinette in Bartlesville, OK.

John and Marilynn built a home together on their Bartlesville ranch where in addition to his law practice, John worked in the cattle business. He took great pride in stewarding the land bequeathed to him from his father via Jay’s mother, Margaret Keefer (nee Morrison) as part of her Cherokee Indian allotment. Together, they proudly cared for and added to the ranch. John was known and will be remembered as an amazing father and grandfather, avid reader, history buff, OU football fan, and lover of horses and all animals.

John is survived by his four children: Brian, Gretchen, Allison, and Bethany and his nine grandchildren.
