Jean L. Piepergerdes, age 87, a resident of Bartlesville died Wednesday July 19, 2006 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Graveside Funeral services for Mrs. Piepergerdes will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 24, 2006 at the Johnson County Memorial Gardens in Overland Park, Kansas. The Rev. Ruth McAleer of the St. Michael�½s and All Angles Episcopal Church of Mission, Kansas will preside over the services. Funeral services are under the direction of the Neekamp-Luginbuel Funeral Home. She attended public school and business schools in Kansas City. During World War II, she served with the United States Coast Guard (SPARS). She was assigned to the pay offices in Cleveland, Ohio and Honolulu, Hawaii. Following her honorable discharge, she was employed by Phillips Petroleum Company in Kansas City until her marriage to Darrel Piepergerdes on April 19, 1947. In 1964, he was transferred by Phillips to Bartlesville, Oklahoma where they have continued to live in retirement. She was a member of St. Luke�½s Episcopal Church of Bartlesville. Survivors include her husband, Darrel Piepergerdes, two sons Dale Piepergerdes of Mission Kansas and Dean Piepergerdes of Bartlesville, Ok, one sister, Juanita Foster and two nieces. Her parents, Iva Victoria and Jesse Lewis Gray, precede her in death.
