Janice Lee Brown, age 82, passed away August 4th, 2026 in Claremore, OK.

Jan was born October 31st, 1943 in Adrian, MI to William and Virginia Krabill. She attended Libbey High School in Toledo, OH and graduated from Lourdes College in 1995. She married Curtis “Mike” Brown on March 28th, 2000 in Fulton County, OH. Together they spent many years of their professional lives dedicated to the deathcare industry, working in funeral homes across the country, including adventuring together to Anchorage, AK.

Jan lived a colorful life and she lived it on her own terms. She was strong-willed and known for speaking her mind completely, without a single filter. Jan found immense joy in being thoroughly unimpressed, and she never hesitated to let the world know exactly how she felt about anything. But beneath her gruff exterior, was a quiet tenderness and unwavering support for the people she held closest to her heart. She is already missed by those who knew her and her heart well.

Jan is preceded in death by her husband and partner in all things, Mike Brown, her son, Rick “Lefty” Bayles, her infant daughter, Christie Marie Bayles, her parents, William and Virginia Krabill, and her two brothers Thomas Krabill and William Krabill.

She is survived by her children, Tomi Sue Wright, OH, Duke Brown and his wife Sierra, OK, and MicKenzie Kissinger, TX along with several grandchildren (including great and great-great), nieces, nephews, caregivers, friends, coworkers and many more who loved her.

Fulfilling her and Mike’s final wishes, no formal funeral will be held. Instead their family will gather privately to scatter their ashes in Denali, AK, reuniting them in the peace of the wild landscape they loved.
