Jack Harrison Short, 81, resident of Bartlesville, OK passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at his residence. He was born in Copan, OK on March 10, 1939 to Louis Hubbard Short and Marguerite Helen (Gaddis) Short.
Jack attended Caney Valley Public School system and after only 12 years of completing school, he decided to join the United States Navy. Upon leaving the military, he became a jack of all trades, while specializing in carpentry work. He was a hard worker and flourished in any task he put his mind to. He grew up straight up cowboy, tougher than boot leather. Jack had a passion for bull riding, fishing, gardening and leather work. He loved working with leather and refurbishing saddles. Jack’s personality and spirit was always one of a fighter or lover depending on the circumstances, but he will never be forgotten.
Family and friends were a high priority and he loved spending time with them. He held a special place in his heart for each and every family member and friends. Jack always had a great sense of humor and a smile on his face. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents Louis and Marguerite Short; siblings: Richard Short, Victor Short and Barbara Sullivan.
Survivors include his two children, Mark Short of Bartlesville, OK, Russel Short of Portland, OR; four grandchildren: Jesse Short, Cody Short, David Short, Kent Short; one great grandchild: Tuff Short; Siblings: Jim Short, John Short and wife Darlene , Dee Short and wife Jamie along with many other relatives and a host of friends.
