Fred Ray Tucker

Fred Ray Tucker, lifelong resident of the Ramona area passed away at his home March 11, 2024, at the age of 94.  

Son of Monroe and Nellie Tucker, Fred spent his early years helping out on the family farm, hunting, and trapping. He was an avid basketball player at Ramona High School where he graduated.

He left a promising carpentry career (“It was not reliable enough to support a family.” To marry the love of his life, Agnes Griffith on July 22, 1950, and to go onto a 48 year career as a machinist at Reda Pump while building up his own family farm.

Fred was active at Ramona Friends Church over the years, remodeling parsonages, trimming out the new building (with Agnes’ help), serving in various church offices, and singing in the men’s quartet.  

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, four sisters, and his wife Agnes (Feb. 2022) Fred is survived by two daughters, two grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and his youngest sister.

Funeral services will be held at Ramona Friends Church with Rev. Lars Gwartney officiating on Friday, March 15, at 11:00 am. Interment will be at the Ramona Cemetery.
