Frank Christopher Folz

March 11, 1960 — May 9, 2025

Bartlesville, Oklahoma

On the evening of May 9, 2025, Frank Christopher Folz, lifetime resident of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully, at the age of 65.

Frank was born on March 11, 1960, in Bartlesville, OK, to John Matthew Folz and Verna (Pickert) Folz. Frank was born with Down’s syndrome, and received early childhood education at Bellringer. He received his education in the Bartlesville Public Schools through the Special Education program, and graduated at the age of 21.

He worked at the ARC Industries workshop for many years before retiring due to health issues. Frank really enjoyed Boy Scouts under the leadership of scoutmaster Jim Arens and eventually Rodney Deffenbaugh. He was able to go to the Philmont Scout Camp in New Mexico twice during his times while in Scouts. Frank also enjoyed vacation where he often did ocean cruises. Frank was a regular participant in Special Olympics, in which he participated in the 50-yard dash and bowling.

Frank’s greatest enjoyment was visiting with his family, and he spoke often of his family. After the passing of his mother in 1989, Frank moved to the ARC Group Homes (now Oklahoma Ability Works), and became part of a bigger family. Frank lived his life in a unique and loving way, and often showed his sense of humor.

Frank was exceptionally kind, but also could be stubborn if someone tried to rush him. He always enjoyed eating and took time to savor his food which was one of the reasons he enjoyed ocean cruises so much. To know Frank was to love him because he had a boundless love for those that loved him. He will be missed by many.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents: John and Verna Folz. Also, many Aunts and Uncles who were a big part of his life.

Those left to cherish the memory of Frank include his siblings: Tom Folz of Jefferson City, Missouri and Mary Edna Folz Donahue of Newton, Massachusetts. His brother-in-law, John Folz Donahue and sister-in-law, Lora Bias Folz. He had many nephews and nieces, one great nephew and one great niece.
