Duane Graves

Duane Donald Graves, of White Oak, passed away on April 29th 2020, in Tulsa, at the age of 82. Funeral services will be held 1:00 on May 8th 2020, at White Oak Cemetery, with Tim Potts and Claude Strong, officiating. Arrangements are by Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita. Duane was born, in Pryor Oklahoma, to Benjamin and Francis Graves, on January 6th 1938. He graduated school at Pryor, where his friends called him “Turtle”, because he was the slowest one on the line playing football. He married Rhea A. Griffith, on March 1st 1968. They raised seven children together. He was a sharecropper, cattleman, and dairyman. He served in the Army for two years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He had a passion for riding bulls and loved to watch the rodeo. He enjoyed raising pigs for his children to show, at the county fair. He was a Christian and was led to the Lord, by Donald Vaughn. He was one of the kindest and most gentle people you could ever meet. He is greatly loved by many and will be immensely missed by all who knew him. Duane is survived by his loving wife, of 52 years, Rhea Graves. His children: Bud and Frona Potts, Rick Potts, Tim and Susan Potts, Martin and Kelly Potts, Patrick Potts, Ben Graves, and Anjannette and George Wofford. His sister Jamaine and brother-in-law Carol Lasiter, and sister Margie and brother-in-law Jim Alberty. His grandchildren: Bo, Chad, Malissha, Brady, April, Tim, Boomer, Kacie, Zack, Lindsay, Corby, Nate, Rowdy, Yance, Tori, Kerztan, Bruklenn, Heather, Whitney, and Paige. His many great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Graves and his mother, Francis Graves. A Graveside service will be held on May 08, 2020 at 1:00 PM in the White Oak Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home, Vinita, OK.
