David Eugene Corley, 45, of Houston, Texas died at 2:00 p.m. on Mother's Day, May 14 as the result of a head on collision with a vehicle that had crossed the center median of I-10, just west of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. A memorial service was held Saturday, May 20 at Seabrook Methodist Church in Seabrook, Texas. David will be interred in Bartlesville, OK on Saturday, May 27. The memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. at Neekamp-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Bartlesville followed by a graveside service at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Neekamp-Luginbuel Funeral Home. David was born in Dumas, Texas on May 15, 1960. After several moves, David graduated from Bartlesville High School. He was a member of the National Honor Society of America, a National Merit Semi-finalist, and a Presidential Scholar candidate. David spent one year in Salzburg, Austria as a foreign exchange student. He attained a degree in philosophy from Conception Seminary College followed by five years of study in Rome, Italy. David loved to travel and found that he had an affinity for languages during his schooling in Austria and while living in Norway. He traveled Europe extensively during his years in Rome and spent three summers working with the underprivileged and Mother Teresa in India. While pursuing his studies, David taught High School classes at the Marymount International School in Rome. David was ordained a priest while in Rome and spent 2 years in the Tulsa, Oklahoma Diocese as Associate Pastor at the Church of Saint Mary in Tulsa. David loved his music and was very talented in this area. He spent some time as organist and Director of Music at the Catholic Ministries of Muskogee, Oklahoma. A decision to change his profession led to further studies and a Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture from Texas A & M. David went to work for McDougald Steele of Houston, Texas immediately after graduation and remained with the firm until his death. David is survived by his parents Don and Shirley Corley of Bartlesville, OK, and by his siblings Randy Corley of Chicago, IL, Valerie Toalson of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Deanna Payton of Stillwater, OK.
