David Lee Addington, 65, of Talala, Oklahoma, passed away Friday evening, July 14, 2023, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, surrounded by his family.

David was born March 6, 1958, in Nowata, Oklahoma to Jarold Addington and Babe (Rowley) Addington.  His family moved to Bartlesville when he was young and David received his education in the Bartlesville School system, graduating with the Sooner High School Class of 1976.  He graduated from OSU – Okmulgee and subsequently moved to Dallas.  David later moved to the Tulsa area and then to Talala, where he spent the past 44 years.  On December 27, 1986, he married the love of his life, Mary Lou Morrison in Bartlesville.

David was a CNC Programmer & Machinist, working for D&L Oil Tools in Tulsa for many years.  He never retired and only his health prevented him from working. As a boy, David was active in Boy Scouts of America and DeMolay.  He loved music and was a multi-instrumentalist. David enjoyed playing video games with his sons.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou of the home; his mother, Babe Addington of Bartlesville; two sons, Warren Addington and his wife, Kelsie of Wichita, KS and William Addington of Tulsa; two brothers, Jarold Addington and his wife, Gladys and Bill Addington and his wife, Janet and two Grandchildren, John David Addington and Nikita Robertson, as well as a handful of nieces and nephews.  David was preceded in death by his father, Jarold Addington.

Funeral service will be 10am, Friday, July 21, 2023, at Talala Christian Church with Rev. Tom Jones, officiating.  Interment will follow in Nowata Memorial Park under the direction of Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home.  Visitation will be Thursday, 9am-7pm, at the funeral home, with David’s family receiving guests from 6-8pm.  To send an online condolence, visit www.honoringmemoriesbartlesville.com.
