Darlene Harris Shipman, 78, of Caney, Kansas, passed away on December 15, 2025, in Bartlesville, OK, at Ascension St. John Jane Phillips Medical Center.
Darlene was born on December 18, 1946, in Houston, Texas, to William Russell Harris and Aletha Mae (Black) Harris. Darlene grew up in Texas, in the Pasadena area and graduated from Sam Rayburn High School. Darlene spent most of her life in Texas, until 2022 when she moved to Caney, Kansas, to be close to her daughter, Wendy.
In her free time, Darlene enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She also loved spending time and caring for her two dogs, a Chorkie and a terrier, and her cat. Darlene was also a devout Christian and was a member of Pathways Church of Dayton, Texas, until her relocation in 2022. Darlene will be greatly missed by those who loved her.
Darlene is preceded in death by husband, Ronald Lee Shipman; her parents, William and Aletha Mae Harris, and her sister, Deanna Kay Crawford.
Those left to cherish the memory of Darlene are her daughter and son in law, Wendy Gale Laramie and Mitchell William Laramie of Caney, KS; her son, William Lee Shipman of Livingston, TX; her grandson, Joshua Gardner and wife, Alexandra and great grandson, Skyler Gardner of Caney, KS, her grandson, Kelly Gardner of Caney, KS, her grandson, Steven Lee Shipman of Livingston, TX; and her granddaughter, Rebecca Leigh Shipman of Livingston, TX, along with other family members and friends.
