Daniel Lawrence Gallery (90), a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, rancher and friend, was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven on August 22, 2026. He leaves behind a remarkable legacy built on family, hard work, friendship, adventure and a deep love for the land and the ranching life.

Dan was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on September 26, 1935, to Elmer Lawrence Gallery and Vivian Wass Gallery (Blanton). His family moved to Bartlesville in 1943 when his father was hired by the H. C. Price Company. Dan attended St. John's School and later graduated from College High in 1953. His move to Bartlesville began a lifelong connection to the community and the land that would become his home.

Dan graduated from Oklahoma State University (formerly Oklahoma A&M) in 1957 with his degree in Animal Science. Dan was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity and active in many campus organizations. While attending OSU, he met the love of his life living next door at the Pi Beta Phi House, JoAnn Buikstra. They were friends throughout college and started dating their senior year. They were married in her hometown of Cushing, OK on October 12, 1958.

Their marriage grew into a lifelong partnership as they built their life together on their ranch east of Copan, Oklahoma. Their marriage of nearly seven decades was filled with family, ranching, friendships, adventures and countless memories.

Ranching was not simply Dan's occupation- it was the life he chose and a legacy he built. He spent 69 years in the cattle and ranching business, beginning as a young man and remaining involved throughout his life. He knew the hard work, uncertainty, early mornings, long days and rewards that came from caring for the land and cattle he loved.

In the early 1970's Dan also owned and operated Lincoln Farms Feed Lot in Wallace, Nebraska for 25 years. His knowledge and dedication to the cattle industry extended far beyond his own ranch. He served for 27 years on the Washington County Excise and Equalization Board, was a member of the National Cattleman's Beef Association, and a member of the Oklahoma Cattleman's Association. He was respected for his experience and commitment to the industry.

When Dan wasn't working hard, he was playing hard. He was an avid snow skier and continued skiing until he was 79 years old. He loved fly fishing and quail hunting, especially when those days were shared with his lifelong friends. He was a perfect example of someone who lived life to its fullest. He truly was one of a kind.

Dan's greatest legacy, however, is the family he and JoAnn built together. He is survived by their four children: Janet Gallery Biggers and her husband, Johnny; William "Bill" Gallery and his wife, Jackie; Gretchen Gallery Sise and her husband Mike; Thomas "Tom" Gallery and his wife, Elizabeth.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Emily Revere and her husband, Kyle; Hanna Sise; Molly Sise; Luke Gallery; Jonathan Gallery, Garrett Gallery, and Emma Gallery, and his great-grandson, Aiden Revere.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Gallery and Vivian Wass Blanton, and his sisters, Patricia Witcher and Linda Turner.

Dan leaves behind a life well lived: Sixty- nine years of ranching, a marriage filled with love and partnership, many lifelong friendships and a family that will carry his legacy forward.

Our hearts are mourning his loss, but joyful for his glorious eternal life. A private family memorial has been planned.
