Dan Waggoner Yarbrough III, 75, beloved father, son, grandfather, and brother, was called to his eternal resting place on October 31, 2023. He entered this world on July 9, 1948, in Pawhuska, OK, born to Dan and Patricia (Ward) Yarbrough. Dan graduated from College High in 1966 and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Dan helped create safety posters for the Navy. When Dan was honorably discharged from the Navy, he moved to Hawaii for seven years working as a jewelry artist. When he moved back to the mainland he worked with Mike Diamond, his best friend, at Green Country Development at Chapel Hill, NC.
Dan enjoyed gardening and antiques in his spare time. He was a fantastic artist and was very well-read. He loved Chinese art and culture. He loved to cruise. He went on several Transatlantic cruises to Europe. His favorite part being the food. He loved to eat! He was a very generous and loving person. He was also a proud member of the Osage and Sac & Fox tribe. Dan loved his family most of all and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his mother; Patricia Yarbrough, son; Dan Yarbrough IV, sister; Katherine Carter, grandson, Joseph Bailey, brothers Basil (Nancy) and Brad Yarbrough. many nieces, nephews,
Dan was preceded in death by his father.
