Barbara Ann McGhee, 77 year old resident of Jay, Oklahoma, passed away on July 4, 2020.
Barbara was born on August 4, 1942 in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of James and Francis (Kennedy) Carroll. After graduating from Chattanooga high school, Barbara attended Dawns Business College. She worked as a bookkeeper for several businesses including Goodnight Feed Lot, that is where she met the love of her life Bob McGhee. They were united in marriage in 1980.
Barbara was an avid OU and Dallas Cowboy fan. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, Sudoku’s, going to rodeo’s with Jim Bob and spending time with her family. Barbara was quite the bowler – she bowled in the National Finals in Reno.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, siblings: James Carroll, Jr “Baby Jim”, Rodney Carroll, and Rhonda Carroll. She is survived by her husband Bob McGhee of the home, her children: Sheila Brown (Terry) of Caddo Mills, TX, Weldon Strange (Joyce) of Electra, TX, Cheryl Tobar (Lucio) Panama City, FL, Ronda Allen (Gary) of Jay, OK, Jo Gooding (James) of Jay, OK, Curtis McGhee (Kellie) of Tuttle, OK, Barbara “Bobby” Hampton of Phoenix, AZ, Jim Bob McGhee (Kimberly) of Jay, OK. She is also survived by her siblings; Linda Bates (Ollie) of Salna, AK, Joan Lehew of Caddo Mills, TX, and Steven Carrroll (Deana) of Lawton, OK. Barbara was blessed with numerous grandchildren. great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 9-5 on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay, OK. Graveside services will be held at 10 am, Thursday, July 9, 2020 at Southwest City Cemetery in Southwest City, Missouri with Pastor JR Morgan officiating.
